Yoshisuke Iinuma is Contributing Editor for
The Oriental Economist Report with responsibility for coverage of
global and Japanese domestic issues.
Mr. Iinuma started his journalist career at the Weekly Toyo Keizai, Japan's third largest business magazine,
as a reporter on financial economy and banking business. He expanded his coverage into such fields as business and industry,
international trade, and administration reform. He also served as the editor-in-chief of the Weekly Toyo Keizai. From
1991-1994 Mr. Iinuma was the foreign bureau chief of Toyo Keizai's New York office.
In 1996-98, Mr. Iinuma headed the whole magazine division at Toyo Keizai. In 1999-2003, he was responsible for
financial information and business development at that company. He is now the director of the Foreign Correspondent Club of
Japan and writes on a freelance basis.
Mr. Iinuma has participated in many international media conferences including the EU-Japan Journalist Conference,
US-Japan Media Dialogue and Harvard Conference on the International Information Revolution.
Mr. Iinuma was born in 1941 in Tokyo. He graduated from Keio University in 1964 with a degree in economics.
He is married and has a daughter and a son.
